Con este álbum, la banda regresa al origen del primer disco, con una propuesta más directa, desenfrenada y poderosa en términos musicales. La Mano Ajena recoge aquí las estimulantes experiencias y sonidos que recogió hasta la fecha, luego de varios viajes por Europa y Chile, lo cual que fusionan con sus raíces latinoamericanas y su gusto por los sonidos de Europa del Este, sin alejarse de su energética sonoridad de siempre. La preocupación por los temas sociales y culturales sigue presente en Raza Quimera. En palabras de María Fernanda Carrasco, la cantante, "es un retorno al espíritu rockero de la banda”. / With this album, the band returns to the origin of the first work, with a project more direct, frenzied and powerful, in musical terms. La Mano Ajena gathers here the estimulating experiences and sounds that the musicians picked up so far, after several trips around Europe and Chile; something that they mix with their Latinamerican roots and their taste for the sounds of Eastern Europe, without losing their energetic tone. The social and cultural concern is still present in Raza Quimera. In words of María Fernanda Carrasco, the singer, "this is a return to the rock spirit of the band".

Este ambicioso proyecto es un disco conceptual inspirado en la aleatoriedad sonora de los precarios circuitos de las radios de galena, aparatos construidos artesanalmente durante la primera mitad del siglo XX. Este trabajo recoge los sonidos mestizos de la música popular chilena a través de 18 canciones, a las que se suman cortinas de programas, jingles publicitarios y narraciones de locutores. Nuevos instrumentos son incluidos, entre ellos, el exótico theremin. / This ambitious project is a conceptual album inspired in the random sonority of the old crystal radios (“radios a galena” in Spanish), these handmade receivers built during the first half of the XX century. This work reunites the mestizo sounds of the Chilean popular music though 18 songs, joined by jingles and radio broadcastings. New instruments are included, such as the exotic theremin.

El primer disco de La Mano Ajena trajo a Chile trajo a Chile una sonoridad única y que hasta entonces no había sido tocada en el país: la música klezmer y gitana, ritmos que fusionaron con sonidos latinoamericanos como el la rumba, el joropo, el tango, y con el resto de influencias de la banda: el rock y la música de teatro. El disco fue ampliamente comentado en la prensa, y las críticas de medios como Rolling Stone y El Mercurio Online fueron muy halagadoras. La Mano Ajena logró con su disco homónimo instaurar en el país su ecléctico sonido, que comenzó a llamarse “klezmer a la chilena”. / The first album of La Mano Ajena brought to Chile a unique sonority that so far hadn’t been played in the country: the Klezmer and Gypsy music, rhythms that the band mixed with Latin-American sounds such as rumba, joropo, tango, and with the rest of the group’s influences: rock and theater music. The album was widely commented in the press, and the reviews in media, like the Rolling Stone magazine and El Mercurio Online were very flattering. La Mano Ajena achieved with this album to install in our country its eclectic sound, that began to be called “klezmer a la chilena”.
